DRAKENSBURG HIKING
ROYAL NATAL - SENTINEL - AMPHITHEATRE
The route to the top of the Drakensburg can be done in a day, which leaves you with more valuable time to explore your surroundings.
Hike from Royal Natal Park to Witsieshoek for your overnight stay; then hike to Sentinel Gate, up the zig-zag trail, around Sentinel peak to the the well-known 30m Chain Ladders or traverse up through the gorge, onto the escarpment. The Tugela Falls are 5km away.
Porters are available to carry your overnight goods to Witsieshoek if desired.
This trail is for those who are relatively hiking-fit.
